Early term — lungs are usually ready
From 37+0 weeks a pregnancy is early term. Most babies breathe air adequately, though a few extra days still help the brain and feeding. Uncomplicated pregnancies are often allowed to wait for labor.

Tips for this week
Know your hospital’s labor advice (for example, contractions every 5 minutes lasting a minute, for an hour — local rules differ). Do not avoid eating light meals in early labor unless you were told to. Reduced movements are still an emergency reason to be seen, even at term.
